Responsibilities

  • Prepare, propose content and session outlines of recreational activities for review by Parks and Recreation Director 
  • Coach youth activities including games in and out of town 
  • Arrange for and monitor use of facilities, equipment and supplies 
  • Initiate and assist with the preparation of promotional materials and handouts 
  • Maintain discipline and safety and follow appropriate first aid measures as required 
  • Prepare, administer, and interpret evaluation instruments of participants learning and skill development 
  • Check for and report any maintenance repair needs 
  • Maintain appropriate records, inventories, reports, and information as required

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 14 years of age 
  • Must have a valid driver's license 
  • Ability to maintain organized and accurate records 
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions 
  • Knowledge of various recreational activities 
  • Ability to participate in various physical recreational activities 
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public, particularly children and their parents
