Building a Collaborative Community

She envisions establishing a strong referral network that encourages companies to support each other and motivates tourists to explore Redfield and Spink County more. "Using referral methods is critically important to keep tourists in our area," she notes. Additionally, Kim believes in educating residents about the advantages of shopping locally, suggesting that a personalized local shopping experience can foster a more profound connection than online alternatives, ultimately strengthening the local economy. To gain further insights, Kim plans to distribute a business survey to prioritize understanding the needs of local businesses.
Upcoming Initiatives for Tourism Growth
Kim has ambitious plans to promote Redfield as a travel destination. Recognizing the town's identity as the "Pheasant Capital of the World," she sees significant potential to attract outdoor enthusiasts and tourists. One of her upcoming projects involves adding digital signage at the town entrances—an initiative combining grant funding with local fundraising efforts. These signs will provide high-visibility announcements about community events, local attractions, and recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. "The digital signage will increase awareness of upcoming events and activities, encouraging long-time residents to remain active in the community," Kim explains. In addition to digital signage, Kim aims to promote family-friendly events that appeal to residents and visitors of all ages. She intends to enhance Redfield's social media presence and expand partnerships with neighboring communities to boost regional tourism. By highlighting Redfield's recreational activities, scenic beauty, and welcoming atmosphere, she hopes to attract more tourists, support local businesses, and create a vibrant community.
